The Doug Wahlberg Band is an American group steeped in the sacred traditions of British Rock. The band’s often mid-tempo music features thick, heavy and catchy guitar riffs that are infused by bass and strong lyrics.
Based in the Danbury area, the band will perform at the Redding Roadhouse on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 9 p.m. The group draws inspiration from the classic British rockers of the ’60s and ’70s, including Pink Floyd.
Doug Wahlberg Band musicians have performed with Peter Tosh and members of The Doors. As a group, the band has opened for acts such as The Ramones, David Johanson and Cheap Trick. Wahlberg, the group’s frontman and namesake, has also worked on projects with Rick Derringer, Bernie Taupin, Elton John’s lyricist, and David Bowie guitarist and producer, the late Mick Ronson. In addition, Wahlberg has been managed by Lester Chambers of the Chamber Brothers.
The group is a regular on the Connecticut bar circuit and has played at many of the state’s major venues.
